Workshops Session #1 | SUNDAY 2:00PM - 3:30pm

Christopher Gornold-Smith

Born in London (1941), Christopher has lived in seven countries. After the fall of communism in Europe, Christopher and his Swedish wife, Ragna, moved from Brussels, Belgium, to Bratislava, Slovakia. As an Assemblies of God international missionary for decades, Christopher has taught Bible, world religions, Christian apologetics, and media. His recent docudrama series “Lost Legacy Reclaimed”, now streaming on Amazon Prime and RedeemTV, covers early Christianity in North Africa.

Workshop: CHRISTIANITY OR CHRISTENDOM: SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE OR CULTURAL EXPRESSION?

Is Christianity a Western religion? Does following Christ mean adopting a culture that feels foreign? What should I think when I see bad people who claim to be Christians? I need answers that go far deeper than I am getting right now. How can I understand the complex interaction between Christian faith and civilization?

KUDZAI MUSUMHI

Born in Zimbabwe, Kudzai came to the knowledge of Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior in January 1995. He attended Southern Illinois University where he got involved with Chi Alpha Campus Ministries and felt God’s call to full-time ministry and also met his wife Paula. They have two sons and are passionate about Jesus, the lost and seeing the Nations discipled for His glory. Kudzai serves as the Chi Alpha Campus Ministry director at Southern Illinois University and John a Logan college and he is also an associate pastor at Calvary Campus in Carbondale, Illinois.

Workshop: HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM

In Luke 24:49, Jesus told His disciples that there was something non-optional that they must have before they could be effective witnesses and go out and fulfill His Great Commission.  That something was the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.  Jesus wants to give us this “power from on high” in order “to be... witnesses.”  In this workshop, we will share what the Bible says about the Holy Spirit, how to know Him as a person and how to release His fullness, gifts, and abilities in and through your life.
